If I'd known I'd be spending two hours just drawing stubble, I might have chosen a different picture.
Ohwell. I'm proud of how it came out. 
Had to enlarge everything slightly because I made his eye too long.

I've seen this twice just browsing around the thumbshare gallery and I couldn't pass up commenting. This is an absoloutely spectacular peice of traditional art, just stunning. You made the gaze so intense, which is extremely difficult to do when much of the the lower half of the face is hidden and can't be used to add to the expression. Beyond fantastic.

Digital, actually. Albeit it was done with a normal (and jerky) computer mouse, which isn't much easier than a pencil.

Also, whoop! My bad, I thought it was pencil. Not that it makes a difference, I think lacking a tablet and having to use a mouse takes just as much, if not more, skill.

I like the mood of this picture, almost fight-clubbish
Maybe add subtle highlights in his facial hair to make it pop more?
and his shoulder you can see a lot of brush strokes, kind of distracts the eye, not much though.
