FULL STORY:

In the vastness of space, aboard the Blue Typhoon, Derek and Cosmo found themselves in the clutches of the sinister Metarex. Meanwhile, Team Sonic huddled together, determined to devise a plan for their daring rescue. With unwavering resolve, they stealthily infiltrated the enemy stronghold, overpowering Metarex guards and liberating their captured comrades. However, upon Derek's safe return, Sonic couldn't shake a feeling of unease. He noticed his friend's visibly weakened state.

Derek, struggling to remain composed, sought solace in his quarters, hoping some rest would rejuvenate him.

Derek: (weary) "Hey, guys, I'm really tired. I'm going to catch some sleep. If you need me, just wake me up, alright?"

Tails / Chris: (supportive) "Sure thing, Derek. Sleep well."

Sonic was about to discuss his concerns with Derek, but his friend had already vanished into the hallway.

Inside his room, Derek proceeded to the bathroom. As he removed his shirt, he discovered that the stab wound inflicted by Dark Oak hadn't healed yet, leaving him puzzled.

Derek: (confused) "Come on... why aren't you healing? What's going on..."

Examining his eye in the bathroom mirror, it suddenly flashed Gold instead of Red, hinting at something unusual. Derek thought he knew the cause but decided to ignore it for the time being.

After washing and drying the wound, Derek hoped rest would finally allow his wound to heal. He put on a tank top and climbed into bed. Unbeknownst to him, Sonic had arrived at the room door, watching Derek with concern.

Sonic: (worried) "Amy, can we talk for a moment?"

Amy: "Of course, Sonic. What's on your mind?"

Sonic: "I can't shake off this feeling that something's seriously wrong with Derek. He seemed weaker than usual. I'm genuinely concerned."

Amy: (concerned) "So... what do you suggest we do?"

Sonic: "I think you should keep an eye on him. Can you do it while I assist the others at the Bridge?"

Amy: "Sure."

Sonic planted a tender kiss on Amy's cheek before rushing off.

Amy entered Derek's quarters, being careful not to disturb his slumber. As she sat down beside him, a sharp, red stain on his shirt caught her attention. Curiosity piqued, she lifted the fabric and discovered the lingering wound on Derek's stomach, inflicted by Dark Oak during his time as a Metarex prisoner. Surprisingly, the wound hadn't healed, leaving Amy shocked.

Amy: (in shock) "Oh my..."

Suddenly, Derek's grip tightened around her hands, and he awakened.

Derek: (confused) "What are you doing?"

Amy: (in a serious tone) "Checking on you."

Derek: "Hmm..."

Amy: (worried) "Why aren't you healing?"

Derek took a moment to gather his thoughts before responding.

Derek: (hesitant) "Some wounds take longer to heal."

Amy's concern grew, and she gently pressed Derek for the truth.

Amy: "But you're a werewolf, Derek. You should be healing much faster. What's really going on?"

Derek: (guarded) "Maybe I'm just tired, Amy."

Derek released his hold on Amy's hands and turned away, but Amy persisted.

Amy: (persistent) "Derek."

Derek: "Yes?"

Amy: "Show me your eyes."

Derek faced Amy, showing his eyes to her.

Derek: (contemptuously) "Here. You see my eyes."

Amy: "I meant show me your REAL eyes."

Derek's frustration became apparent.

Derek: (reluctant) "Amy, I'm telling you, I'm fine."

Amy: "Derek, I can see it. Something isn't right."

Reluctantly, Derek sighed and revealed his glowing eyes, which were now gold instead of red.

Amy: (astonished) "What in the world happened?"

Derek took a deep breath, rising from the bed to share the truth with Amy.

Derek: (emotionally strained) "I'm still not sure, but... When I was locked at the Metarex basement with Cosmo, Dark Oak took something from me."

Amy's concern deepened, her eyes locked on Derek.

Derek: "At first, I believed it was a part of my past. But during the recent battle, I started losing something else: my heightened senses, my enhanced strength..."

Amy: (worried) "And what does this all mean?"

Derek: (with a heavy heart) "I... I'm losing my power."
