Description
Funny how my quick tests often turn out as good as images I spend a month on (and more importantly, they actually get finished).Postwork in Photoshop; a curve and paper texture combination I call "Boris style". Rendered with the default HDRI (ruins) because I wanted to see if I could give it a fantasy look without having to mess with creative lighting. Didn't make masks for this though, so I couldn't do object-specific postwork or color correction. Thanks very much for taking a look!

Just something I downloaded somewhere, heh...but yeah, wouldn't want to be hit with it. Thanks!

I just found it, great artwork on Rune's character! One month spent on another big artwork, my friend!

Oh this was a quick picture for me, only the really complicated ones take me that long. Thanks!

Thank you, I actually feel that was a productive and decent test for a change. Haven't really been able to reproduce it lately, but that's the story of my artistic life. Thanks again!

You're very welcome. This seems to be the story that has been plaguing many artists
I know the last year or two - RL has exploded and left absolutely no time for art at all.
And for an artist who loves creating things in Poser/DS/Photoshop, being unable to do
anything is like asking us to stop breathing.

My problem isn't RL actually, it's that I'm just unable to get the style I want out of 3D. I'm not really a fan of the standard 3D look, so I've been experimenting with trying to get it to look more illustrative and drawn for 19 years now. I know it's impossible because if Disney can't do it, I certainly can't, but I still have hope for the future. Thanks!

All you can do is keep trying! Who knows, with the programs that are available
now, Rebelle and alike maybe you're getting closer to achieving the look you're
after. I wish you all the luck though - I know what it's like to strive to get a
certain look to your art but never quite managing it. It can be a lifelong pursuit!

Thanks very much! You're right, you just have to keep trying and using whatever's available to inch closer to what you want.

If you hadn't said Boris, I'd have said that it looked like it was based on Boris.

Thank you! How they come out is still fairly random, but I'm glad when something turns out right.

Great action.
It looks like she's ready to strike a proper home run, but not with a baseball ball.

Haha, yeah that was a decent preset pose (I don't remember if I changed much, probably not). Thanks!

I'd say it's more a "Frazetta" style, Boris's is kinda more shiny and bright.
Or more precise a combination of both: "Boris Frazetta" or "Frank Vallejo" if you like.
But for both she does mostly still wear to many clothes.
Nice work and very cool looking nevertheless.

Could be, yeah I still need to work on the style. Still getting fairly random results depending on the 3D items, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. Thanks very much!

It was actually a very simple expression preset from Ironman13, but it did seem to work here. Thanks!
