Description Last quick test for 2013, this is just Faveral's Medieval Docks with Dreamlight's LDP Pro-R light rig and Photoshop. I'd always been hesitant to buy it because Dreamlight is all about hyper-realism, which isn't always useful for more fantasy-style artists like myself. Today it was sale for $10 though, so I thought I'd give it a try and this was my first result. Actually pretty surprised with how much of a fantasy look I was able to end up giving the very cold and sterile original combo render, and this is literally just the default scene dropped in and rendered (which is why the window materials are broken).

You'll need an English copy of Photoshop to use LDP Pro-R if you also decide to give it a try, as it uses an English action to combine the multiple renders.

My vacation from 3D art may be coming to an end...not going to promise anything, but I'm definitely giving it my best.      Thanks very much for taking a look!

Nice image, SnowS!
I love the Dreamlight's LDP Pro-R light, although I rarelly use it now. But it´s a VERY nice product. Now I'm currently using the AOA´s Advanced Ambient Light, or..well... trying to learn how to use it better.

Thanks! Ah, yes I was using the Advanced Ambient light for my testing before this picture too. Just that and one distant light gave pretty good results. I'm trying to keep my lighting as simple and consistent as possible, so I might just use the AA for indoor scenes and this for outdoor ones now.

Happy New Year to you too! I hope it's a great year and that we'll both be able to enjoy making new art! My big plan early next year is to rearrange my home and make a new work area...maybe it will help me be more productive.    Do you have any plans?

"Do you have any plans?"

I´m going to go back to the gym and start to workout again. Well. I'll try.

Good luck! I need to try working out too (and by working out, I mean not sleeping all the time).

Thanks! I think this kind of pic might look better a little less sharp, but this only took about a half an hour and wasn't frustrating for a change.
