Description
August's art challenge on Aardvark & Donkey (a little late): [link]Various terrifying elements, combined into one deplorable illustration:
* creatures with too many eyes
* people who look like owls
* weird skin diseases
* very long necks, like the Hammerheads from The Wizard of Oz
* objects that have the shape of penises, without being penises
* getting old
* subtle but noticeable facial asymmetry
* spiders which are there, even though you canβt see them (I hid some in the background)
* rubbery fish lips
* space aliens
* portraits with gazes that appear to follow you about the room (bottom set of eyes)
* portraits with focusless stares (top set of eyes)
* Pez dispensers

And you missed one:
* pictures that make the viewer dizzy with implied optical illusions

I thought that was just me! I kept having trouble focusing on this, as soon as the head was finished: my eyes kept insisting on trying to resolve both pairs of eyes into one, causing an annoying blurring effect. Didn't realise it would bother other people the same way. I'll have to remember that, for future horror-type drawings.

Precisely. It's not just that there are two sets of eyes; it's that all four of the accursed things keep insisting that there is but one set.

Be afraid.
Be very afraid.
Carefully avoid the impulse either to retch or guffaw.
