It's fun actually- And it isn't hard on the wallet either. The key is to keep practicing once one has a bow and arrows or else the skill goes rusty. I can remember I was at an archery range, and I was just breaking in my bow. I shot my third arrow, only to have it go high (I released early, and it was a full draw) and ended up in the bulkhead down range. It took me a few minutes to get the arrow after I had to wiggle it back and forth- the point went three inches into the bulkhead, lol!

The nice part is that an archery kit is portable- and you can probably set up a target in your backyard. Of course, it also depends on where you live in your neighborhood, if you have neighbors behind you, and how close they are. I could set up an archery range in my house if I want- no one lives on the main floor but me- my roommates live in the basement- its a big basement...

I want to try Kyudo eventually. Imagine, me walking into that range with a bamboo bow that stands a meter and a half high with arrows about a meter in length....
