Description
Up in the Medical Bay, Red insisted that Spew get a quick scan after her run-in with Ellie. Spew had recovered quickly, but her voice was still croaky and her throat hurt like hell. Red looked up at the detailed 3D scan of Spew's neck and head, which all looked fine. Ellie waited outside, lost in her own reverie. The AI's avatar stood nearby. "You should both prepare yourselves, as Ellie said. I apologise for not briefing you both, but you will indeed be accompanying her on her mission." Spew stared ahead, impassive. Red glanced at the avatar, then at Ellie, who met her gaze from beyond the window.
Red looked away quickly, and to hide her discomfort, she said, "I thought she was going to kill us both for a second there."Â
Daz 4.10 with iRay, a quickie at one hour's render with the AtmoCam. No post to speak of, was happy with the tone and levels as is.

Nice framing, lures your eyes inside the centrum. And expressive poses too.Â

Thanks! Really an experiment, "can I make this boring room look at all interesting?"

Don't they realize? if Ellie _had_ killed them both, she'd have had to put up with the delay to work up replacements

Yeah those two are a bit soft, and just find Ellie a bit scary...they've never met a clone supersoldier before, and she's not exactly Miss Congeniality!

A great idea to put the camera into the scanner, which is giving an amazing view through three "rooms"!
Love that!
And I can hardly imagine how it must feel for Red and Spew to know they will have to work with that Ellie!

I often try to approach a scene as if I was shooting it with a moving camera, so the opening shot here might be the camera slowly dollying through this opening...and here it worked quite nicely to focus attention on those bright suits.
I am certain Red and Spew are starting to panic just a little bit...at least they have each other for reassurance!

Yeah, the cinematic approach to your composition is obvious and something I really like in your work .
And from the description of your idea behind the camera here I can literally see how it would move after that still-frame!
Kind of reminds me at the masterful camera-moves David Finsher used in "Panic Room" (like this one that's turning my nuts no matter how often I watch it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Qh7jF⌠)
In regards to Red and Spew,...I know they are tough girls. Though they still better make friends with Ellie

Thank you Blades, I was working with a fairly dull room, until I put the camera here. I'm happy with the porthole kind of thing I wound up with.

Very atmospheric. You've been able to match the drama of the words to the visual exceptionally well. Love the wash-out of Ellie and the Avatar...they are part of the vignette, but not the focus. Well done!

Thank you Don! It's not my most exciting render, but I was pleased with it nonetheless.

"Exciting" is a relative term. If everything was exciting, you wouldn't have the emotional peaks and valleys that make a story. Atmosphere, revelation, consideration, consolidation -- all are necessary before the story hurtles forward again,Â
