I've worked on this for MONTHS!!!
Graphite, charcoal, coloured pencil and white charcoal pencil on 140 lb. watercolour paper - original size - 18 x 24 inches
This piece was inspired by the song "Regenerate" by Cosmicity.

I highly recommend Burne Hogarth's books for drawing the human figure. They've definitely helped my work

This piece was a true effort for me. I don't usually work in charcoal and graphite, but something about the image in my mind just begged for those mediums.

I think as I've gotten older and (hopefully) wiser, I've learned to be more patient when it comes to my art. I used to want immediate results. Now I'm content to give a piece as much attention as it needs.

That's how I feel about my stuff too. I used to get so down on myself if I could produce an awesome picture within the drop of a dime. But as time went by, I realized the best pictures are the ones you spend a considerate amount of time on

This is truly impressive. The detail is astounding. Even the wings are carefully constructed.
I can see why it would take you a long time on such a project.
You probably were being torn in many different directions with this one, but your talent prevailed.
This piece surpasses many things that I've seen. PERIOD.

There's a HUGE amount of detail in this. I'll probably post some detail shots here shortly. I probably drove one of my art professors nuts with asking for help when I'd get stuck. Part of the reason this took so long was that I'd get stuck, get frustrated and then go work on something else until I could come back and look at this with an objective eye again.
So very glad you like it and I hope I don't disappoint with future works
