Description
Since I had a teeny bit of free time earlier this evening and was feeling a bit inspired (besides my work which has been keeping me busy in the first place), I thought I'd do my own wallpaper of Umino Kasumi, a.k.a. Neo Sailormercury of Janelle J.'s "Sailormoon: Neo" fic this time (with her character bio found here: [link] ).

Once again, this isn't me taking any sort of credit within the slightest upon the actual drawing (of Mercury), as it, like the Neo Sailormars fanart piece were both done by one simply named "Kunika" (so yeah, once more, don't bother freaking or whatever, if you ever personally read this in the future).

Just me fooling around with more fractal art attempts and decided to use what I'd done with Kasumi, since it looked so "icy."

There is already a wallpaper done for her years and years ago on the site, found here: [link] which I've always admired, so technically mine, making one, that is, could be seen as a little 'redundant' more than 'necessary,' by comparison to the one I'd made for Hisakino Karei/Neo Sailormars (who didn't have 'her own' wallpaper made on the site), found here:

Still, I enjoyed doing this one, anyhow. ^_^

To me, it looks as though her innate water, or more specifically in this case, ice wielding abilities are at their peak, hence the brutal/fierce whiteness beneath her feet and slightly around her immediate vicinity, as it expands out into the atmosphere.

I'd also made her sigil shine significantly brighter than I had for Karei's, 1, because Kasumi was one of, if not the strongest Neo Senshi, and 2, as indicated within the text, her constant desire (among other things) to be the absolute best at all she pursues (including her senshi duties/capabilities) helps fuel said desire, both literally and figuratively.

As for the text meaning, to better elaborate, like Karei's own text, you'd honestly have to personally read the fic to better understand both girls' (and the rest of the Neo Senshi, for that matter) personal woes/concerns, etc. But, in a nutshell (and at the risk of spoiling anything, for those who haven't read it yet), her wanting to be the best 'in every way' is meant to draw focus upon her desire/goal to be the absolute best senshi (and make her mother proud and maybe not be so neglected anymore, by comparison to her older sister and fellow, far less competent senshi, Megami/Neo Sailorneptune), as well as to hopefully/finally be the best for the love of her life, Morino Ryuu/Jupiter Kamen (yes, Kino Makoto's son), who unfortunately only has eyes for Shino Seishi/Neo Sailorsaturn.

Won't go any further in detail on that end, but to this day I still feel very sorry for Kasumi and her fate in that regard, even though, technically, it sort of ended 'happily. . . .'

Anyhow, there ya have it. Proud, yet emotionally vulnerable Kasumi.
