Description
OC pencils by that I tweaked and inked traditionally, then digitally colored. Originally entered in my gallery as a pin-up ink entitled "Stvkar's Danni-Cowgirl" , I colored it in PS, playing with a few different things, including laying in color notes to suggest a background. Just knocking around. Best way to learn.Might mention that the colors really enhance results of the postage stamp test. The black and white already got a strong passing grade, but the colors made it even better. That's a pleasant surprise.
Note: I really should have redrawn those hands. I recall that I did several inks for Steve's pencils. This may have been one where I thought it impolite correct the hands. Still, I corrected the butt, so why not the hands? LOL. There were also several tangents involving the limbs that I pointed out in the pencils. Rather than having Steve redo the pencils, I corrected them. Where the line of the arm merged with the outline of the front of the body, I moved the arm backward and framed it with the body's silhouette. Where the lines of the legs got confused with each other, I consolidated them into a single black silhouette.
Note: Zipped through the selections using lasso - no masking layers, no locked pixels, no selection by color. Very simply and fast, and can be precise when you enlarge and do it in sections holding the shift key to execute multiple selections. The purpose of selecting is to create a simple temp mask enabling you to use a big brush and big, loose movements to render without painting over the outlines.

Thanks. Filters? No. Just straight painting.

The background looks almost like it had a linear filter applied to it. How'd you do that?

Just soft brush, low flow, delicate (light touch) application - some think lines, some blocking in strokes and some really big brush strokes for the general zones. All done directly one the same layer.
