Description
My drawingΒ color-edited by (He took the liberty of covering her boobs. Boo! Who does he think he is? Hehe.)Yesterday Steve invited me to ink his comic book/graphic novel series "Danni". He surprised me by coloring this post of mine to inspire and motivate me, which it does is spades! (Well, actually inspires and paralyzes me, but why split hairs?) I'm bursting. (Sort of like her, but everywhere, not just in the chest.)

Man that old-days illustrative style never gets old!
Kinda makes me miss the days when illustration was a bit more respected as a career choice.
Nice work!

LOLΒ Thank you!
If you take a birds eye view of art history you'll see that what people do today is a fad.Β In a couple of years they'll be doing something else.Β Remember "Cutting Edge"?Β Where is it now?Β
The fashions change in the blink of an eye, but the direct approach anchored in the basics goes on forever.Β Good drawing is rooted in the fundamentals.Β That is something that can never go out of style.Β Get a handle on that and you can wear any fashion you like and change it at will to suit your needs and purposes Β

exactly!
Drawing traditionally is my thing - I just don't scan anything I draw. (for a variety of reasons, including but certainly not limited to my scanner being crappy.Β Yes, i do have better reasons hehe)

Well, I understand that you may not want to put certain work on display to the general public.Β But, you know, you can still share those with select individuals using links to Sta.sh.Β You can also put the work in Drop Box (dropbox.com) and link a folder.Β
Now you've hooked me.Β I have to wonder what you're doing and why you're not showing it.Β Β

It is the first time I thought my work good enough to publish, because it was just a sketch, nothing fancy, yet looked so good when colored. In fact it has helped me appreciate the black and white art, which, in this case, is even stronger than the colors. The colors look good because the inking is substantial - like a woman with a good body wearing nice clothes. The clothes provide a nice accent for the solid foundation. The two work together. But while the inks can stand alone, the color cannot.

Actually, no. He writes and sketches up storyboards. Usually others ink and color his work. So it really came as a big surprise.
