Description you would think this is the easy part, given the name.  But this just shows up any false concepts or poor measures of proportion in the blockhead.  You have to remove not only all the construction lines, but you simplify the features and everything else.  One false move sticks out like a sore thumb because there is nothing to distract from it.  Went at it all day, measuring, shaping, measuring shaping.  Then I got the brilliant idea to make head "maps" or blueprints, instead of doing it hit and miss.  What I found is that even when virtually tracing over a blueprint, there is enough variation that practically no two heads coming out looking the same.  It was not as much fun as I thought it would be, and as methodical as it comes, it still lacked the kind of definiteness for which I hoped.   But it did keep my proportions from approaching the grotesque.
For the models I went with the simple ball and plane.  The box and T are there, invisibly, because I see them in my mind - no need to draw them entirely every time, just draw the parts I need and imagine the rest.  But it's still kind of rubbery, like a rubber ruler, it lets me wander off out of bounds, so I have to practice and check measurements, until the internal models cure, so to speak.
