Description
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows / Chapter 21 "The Tale of the Three Brothers" / by J.K.Rowling"In time, the brothers reached a river too deep to wade through and too dangerous to swim across. However, these brothers were learned in the magical arts, and so they simply waved their wands and made a bridge appear across the treacherous water. They were halfway across it when they found their path blocked by a hooded figure. And Death spoke to them ... "

Hey, I just saw your artwork and I was impressed immediatelly! It fits the story really well, so I thought I'd just ask whether I can have your permission to show it in a presentation I'm doing in class about the tale. I'd also credit you of course, and it wouldn't go public.

Almost makes me shiver looking at it. The shadows and the sky and the way you can just feel the cold and the moonlight... I may just have to watch you.

Amazing! You drew this long before Deathly Hallows came out, yet the drawing is so much like the scene presented in the film. Maybe they've been inspired by your drawing?
Anyway really good illustration!

They must have had powerful magic indeed to be able to construct such a beautiful and detailed piece of stonemasonry...

So do I - I love all the backstories and folktales within HP; they definitely give the series more depth. I'm actually working on a story surrounding the three brothers & Death ^^

Your style is perfect to picture the story (I think you'd be great to illustrate that book/fairytale) at least your picture is more seriously to children's book - but I think that's even better - that story should scared kids.

in some countries (e.g. the US, as far as I know) the books have indeed illustrations (at the beginning of each chapter ... I hope the Americans on deviant will correct me if I'm wrong).
And yes, most of the time I draw exactly the picture that appears before my mind's eye - which in this case is called "canon", that is, I usually do not add anything to the scene, I strictly follow the author's description while creating such "fan art". Still - words pick only parts of the whole - and an illustration does the same. 50 percent is still left to the spectator's or reader's imagination, so an illustration to a story is also always the interpretation by the artist drawing/painting it.
