Why so damned many?Β There are already too many kinds of electrical outlets, but not nearly as many as there are computer connectors.Β Why?

I love this poster and have pointed a few people at it. Makes it a lot easier identifying some old bits of hardware that land in our test area.

Some of what you have listed as Desktop Card Slots are alsoΒ known as EDGE connectors. PCI,Β PCIe, and AGPΒ are justΒ three examples.Β A different variety, of many numbers of pins, areΒ used in a lot of arduino projects as well as inΒ some proprietary computer parts.
Oh, there's also IDC in the same sense. Commonly used with powerΒ buttons, 3.5mm audio ports, and USB ports from computer cases going to headers on motherboards.

I love how you collect and compile all of these in one screen (I should say). It is so informative, despite the new ones aren't here, but that's okay. I'm going to share this to my students who also have passion to computers and wants to learn more about them.
