Description Look at that FAIL! and by FAIL! I mean experimenting with water colors!

It's amazing what you can do with a set of five-dollar water colors you pick up at Michael's.

Pellinore (c) me

Submitted to scraps because it was drawn for the lulz and painted for the lulz; in other words, NO EFFORT WAS USED

Aw nuts... D8>

It's true. There are certain mediums where you need to invest for higher quality materials. Watercolors (at least I find) you don't have to invest much. Acrylics too. Then again, I have yet to really immerse myself in these two mediums so I don't know the spectrum of quality, but what I have works quite well for me. 8) Now, the pic itself isn't bad. I see you tried to make highlights as well as layer. Which is good. You have certain techniques down that will help you a lot. Now, said layers are a bit too noticeable (looking at the skin of her back in particular) and although I like where you were going with the shading in her dress the shape of the shadows need more definition. And be careful with how much water you use. I see a lot of bloom in the left side of her dress. I won't grill you on that though cuz I still have trouble gauging water. XD I'm so proud of you for trying to expand more. Awesome work, kiddo. 8D

Well, the bit of the bloom could be because I didn't use water color paper for this. It's one of those sketches that evolved into something else.

Thanks so much for the critique! It really helps me.
