Description
Another stamp. This isn't just for science and logic in general; this is for those of you who like to apply them in areas where they're probably not meant to be applied, such as in fantasy settings. (Guilty as charged!) The setup's supposed to be a chalkboard. I added in the two formulas to the sides to eliminate distracting blank space; the one on the left is the formula for potential energy, and the one on the right is Einstein's famous E = mc squared.I recently had a little disagreement with another DA user about this very subject. He criticized me for trying to apply science to a fantasy situation, and mentioned that science has no place in fantasy because the whole point of fantasy is to escape science and logic. I countered that science and logic have their place in everything, including fantasy. We ended up reaching a stalemate.
...Could someone explain to me why I'm even making these stamps? It's not like I can use them.

You're making the stamps because of something known as known as "ABC & Me".

Yea, I do the same thing with fantasy. I can suspend some disbelief (I rather enjoy science fiction) but the whole thing is to remain consistent. At some point, if you just banish all sense and logic, whats the bloody point?

Logic has its place everywhere. If some fantasy protagonist has a weird dragon-mouse hybrid for a pet that can fly around and is intelligent enough to follow instructions, there better be a good reason why it can't just fly through the bars of the prison cell and fetch the key.

If more people used scientific and logical thinking the world would be a better place.

Slightly more boring, but definitely better.

I'm not trying to say I'm a mind-reader or anything lke that (though being able to read minds WOULD be cool...), but I think you make these type of stamps for people like me... AKA people who have to much free time on their hands and so turn to mindless entertainment (or in my case, just something to keep my brain amused) to keep our brains from deciding it would be a good idea to try to run up steel siding... For the record, steel is a whole hell of a lot harder to run up than a brick wall, but you wont get far on either...
In other news, I totally love this stamp!! It so suits me!! I got a shoe thrown at my head once because I said something on a TV show could never happen.... And the only thing I learned from the experience is that while stilletos are lighter than sneakers, they hurt more if you get hit in the back of the head with one... Steel-toed boots are wost, though...

Hmm.
Well, I can see both sides of the srgument here. I'll use Amaramis as an example, purely because she is a good one.
She's a fictional, fantasy creature. There's no way in hell than a lavender-furred bipedal mammal wearing heels would suddnely appear on Earth today.
On the other hand, I've incooperated science into it as well; inserting whatever I thought was necessary to make her believably immune to sub-zero temperatures. I've looked over eyesight, sense of smell, hearing, her lungs, heart, blood vessels, even her skeletal structure. Cranium and mandible in particular.
So I agree that science and logic does have its roots everywhere, but also that fantasy can completely uproot it when used properly.
...By the way, great stamp!
