Don't get the wrong idea. I'm not saying people should stop using it altogether. However, I often see people relying a bit too much on it and its female counterpart. I've seen DA galleries that are nothing but "dolls" made with them. To boot, there are a lot of creative characters out there with features beyond the dollmakers' capabilities. I can name a number of my own characters as examples; I looked over the menus and saw no sign of inline skates, multiple heads, or Double Cutters. It may be a good brainstorming tool for beginners, but nobody can be a beginner all their lives.I may or may not make a female dollmaker stamp to go with this one. I'm not sure whether being redundant is better or worse than being sexist.

I used to overuse it and the female version a lot back in 2012, thinking it was "art". However, at one point I decided to just stop it and create my own characters with my imagination instead, and come 2014 or this year I decided to just move the results to scraps, and even remake two characters made with the Furry Dollmakers.

Generally I use it to find a concept design for characters. I stopped posting from the doll maker and now do my own artwork. Even though I think it's a little crappy.

It's getting pretty annoying at how many people use it. I agree with what you said. Nobody, nobodyΒ from what I've seen on Sonic Fanon Wikia credits her for making the Furry Dollmaker, so I have to edit the descriptions just so they won't get into trouble!!!!! D:<

When I use these dollmakers I would only use them or inspiration and as an extra help in hand for designing characters and I always would add bit of my own touch and character to those designs, much like most recent creation, Broc.
Sadly not everyone does it and they often don't credit or they actually claim that they "drew" the image

I will play about using dollmakers to get inspiration for a potential new OC, then I'll draw her up later, but I never post dollmaker stuff on my dA anymore.

I just use it as a base to create my characters. I make the character, save a pic, then mess around with it until I get what I want. :3

It's fun to fuck around with, my Steam profile picture is from it. But uploading it on DeviantArt is ridiculous and 99% of the time the dollmaker is not even credited, not that it should have been uploaded in the first place. It's not even their art.
