Marybeth spun and twirled as she made her way down the court. She paused and jumped, throwing the basketball high in a smooth arc. It sailed through the air, and the python held her breath as it bounced off the ring before dropping in. Marybeth punched a fist in the air.
"YES!"
A clap caught her attention and she looked over, spying a black dragon who had stopped by to watch her.
"Nice shot," the dragon said.
"Thanks."
Marybeth smiled.
"I'm Marybeth, by the way. What's your name?"
The dragon gave a theatrical bow.
"The name's Black."
He looked at her, a twinkle in his eye as he walked over.
"I take it you play a fair bit of basketball?" he asked.
Marybeth nodded.
"Yeah. I'm a bit of a sports freak," she replied. "Why do you ask?"
Black chuckled.
"I was just wondering if you've ever wondered what the game was like from the ball's point of view?"

The ball spun around the rim of the ring, making three loops before dropping through the net. Black walked over and picked it up, bouncing it a couple of times before looking at it. Two big eyes peered back up at him, a big smile underneath them. Black was pleased. Marybeth had made a great basketball, and she thoroughly seemed to be enjoying herself. He ran a hand over her, making sure she retained her shape before bouncing her again.
"We'll have a few more shots," he said, "then, if you're game, we'll try something a bit different."
He tossed the Marybeth-ball at the ring, making the basket, and smiled. Just wait till he told his brother, White, that he had found themselves a willing subject for their games...

Usually when lizardman22 and I do a collab (and by "usually" I mean "every single time until now"), I write a story and then he draws a picture to go with it. Even with our "reverse collabs", we've got the same roles, just fulfilled in the other order. He suggested that this time, I draw and he write. I was reluctant at first, as I have little confidence in my drawing ability (seriously, put my work next to his and tell me you can't tell who's the better artist), but decided "what the heck" and drew something up.

This didn't turn out as badly as I expected... we should do it again sometime.
