Here's the colored version.What do you guys think of Aethon's overall color palette? I've messed with the colors of his cape and gloves forever, but so far I haven't found anything better than that re-violet color. And what about the inside of his cape? Does that lighter color work OK?
Other than that I'm happy with the color scheme. The accents of gold look excellent on him. And that's another reason I want to change his eyes to gold. The red just doesn't fit in with everything else, and I personally think Aeth would look better with lighter eyes.

Quick question, what program do you think is best for coloring? I would not, for my life, color it with a pencil.

Well, I've always liked Photoshop for coloring. It's a very useful program with an almost endless variety of tools you can use to color a picture. I've used other art programs, but none work nearly as well.

A darker color on his markings would be best, in my opinion at least, along with his top quill tipped with violet. And seeing the colored version, golden eyes really would fit him well.

Maybe Aethon needs one more violet tip for his top quill, or maybe a violet marking on along the his head, the same as Shadow's.

I like Aethon in colour too! Actually, you can try both colours to see which ones work out the best. Since you said that the accents of gold look excellent on him, I've some ways changed my mind about going for the red eyes, and that I think the gold eyes would be better for him!

I personally would like a darker violet for the tips of his quills, ears and maybe his cape? Even just a dash of it on his boots too?

Like as dark as his colors used to be? I like that shade of purple on him cause it blended good with his black fur. As for the boots, I think it'll look great and add some life to them as well.

OK. It should be noted though that this picture has only rough coloring, and some of the colors are a tad lighter than they would be in a complete picture. But I can experiment with darker shades.

It's a V shaped marking, though it's kinda hard to see in this picture. I might draw Aeth in another pose so that it stands out more.
