So the thought came to my head: Why exactly does pearl watch Steven while he sleeps?Then I remembered a video I watched in biology that infants are such vulnerable creatures, since their bodies are so new they could fail at any moments notice, very scary. And with Pearl being paranoid bird mom her actions seemed reasonable.
[update] Well there was no possible way the gems could ever care for baby steven. LiKE 0% chance
