Jackee Jing in the Montreal Botanical Gardens - Infrared & Visible Blue light [Tiffen 47]
F/8.0, ISO400, 31mm, 1/30th
Canon 17-40mm f/4.0L & 77mm Tiffen 47 filter
Shot with a full-spectrum-converted Canon 5Dmk2 (Spectrosil 2000)

Infrared talk: The "Tiffen 47" filter, like an "r72", passes infrared ~720nm and longer, but interestingly also passes visible blue light of ~500nm and shorter. This gives both a blue sky and the typical infrared effect, without requiring channel swapping. I've created a graph below displaying the which parts of the spectrum are passed by this filter. There are two transmission windows; one in the visible blue, and one in infrared.

Thanks Rob! I've got to give the credit to David (elopan) for the Tiffen 47 idea. It has the potential to make winter infrared photos much more interesting. This was the photo that prompted me to ask about it:

ai, yes, he knows his stuff. just read an article by him on kolari's site about the 550 nm filter. (sigh) so many things to try
