Enchanting! I love the pastel color palette and her look is mesmerising. Her hair is like wuthering wind in the sea waves that floats in the mystique atmosphere of this picture in contrast with the soft fragile flower plant that reminds petals... Perfect portrait

The photo really feels like a painting :0 With the softness of the lighting and such.

I'm assuming the pose was her quickly turning her head?

Exactly! I was positioned on a riser about 3 meters up, and had her flip her hair while turning her head. She nailed the most difficult part, which is not making a funny face while doing the hair flip!

Very cool, I can't even imagine taking that kind of shot, especially with that dof!
My camera has the specs, but accurate focus is still a bit hard, it's difficult at times to tell exactly where the beginning/sharpest point is.
Or i guess simply said I have trouble positioning my focus.
Is there much to consider when shooting so open? other than exposure.

It's quite a challenge manually focusing at 1.2 on full frame - I use an LCD magnifier with liveview to create a sort of massive EVF, then digitally magnify further to manually focus accurately. I often use magic lantern so that I don't have to recompose after focusing. This method means that there's no guesswork, but it certainly is tedious, and doesn't allow for a great deal of movement.

*whistle* I see, so definitely not something where you or the target would move,
quite the impressive setup, I've been reading about magic lantern and kind of wish i could try it now,
but I've left canon behind. unless I ever get around to converting my old one, to give it new life..
are you talking about the "focus patterns" feature?
