A juvenile Ruby- throated Hummingbird (male)my reason i think its a male is the dark flecks on his throat

I saw a hummingbird around my fountain earlier this wee, the first I've seen all year (actually the first I've seen a few years - they're rare in my area and it was 20 years before I saw my first one).
It was mostly gray with black stripes running horizontally across its head, as well as some black on the wings I think. It had a white belly that became orange about halfway down. Do you think you'd be able to identify it?

ahh ok we only have officially one Hummingbird and thats this ruby throated i do see that some people get the lucky chance to see a Hummingbird moth that have orange tummys?? they hover and suck nectar from flowers the same way as hummingbirds do. also on the very very rare occasion there has been the odd sighting of a Rufus Hummingbird.. but i doubt this is what you seen since they are a Mid america hummer

lol well it definitely was a bird. Perhaps it was a chickadee that learned to hover. Or a foreign species.
