I think I have just about got the hang of the new actionscript, I'm sure there are cleaner ways to do this but just making something that works is good enough for my first experiment

ha great little play thing, i had an idea maybe a fun game may be if you incresed the fade rate on the litle bubbles and then make a sort of corse with a timer and if the bubles hit the side you lose points?? , just an idea i had but

this twinkletrail makes me think of a fairy. possibly this would be an interesting anim to add to a game character and/or sidekick.

actually to collect key presses the flash needs to be clicked on whatever the browser

oh yeah, rigth. but internet explorer has this thing where you have to click a flash file if you want to use it, so i was thikning that that was what you were talking about, sorry ^_^

I find this simple particle fun rather addicting actually.
Either your really good at making good flash stuff, or I'm simply easy to amuse. I believe the first reason to be most likely.

Have you tried using cacheAsBitmap till they start fading to be able to have just a few more particles on the screen at once?

no, they start fading immediately, though I plan on playing around with that soon

woah! Um whats the scripts for recreating movie clips or graphics? And did you add gravity here? (im a noob i realy dont know)

well in AS3 to add movie clips to the stage you use addChild(), and as for gravity I just add to the y value of each particle
if you are interested you should really work through the scripting tutorials in the help menu

well the addChild method what I use in AS3, but the principles are the same.
also if you think it through you wont be able to make anything without learning first
