HELIX!! Once again I was back at the Quantum 9 Arena enjoying some crazy Flying Diamond Stock
Nothing like a rank bronc on a summer day Like my really creative name? lol

Rodeo is a sport which I do myself and have been hurt many many times. BUT without it there be a lot of so called "nags" in the world. I have rode some mean broncs cause they were mistreated. If the stock contractors hadn't bought the horse it would have most likely been sold to the "killers" I beleive that rodeo gives horses that couldn't make it has one of those-high-dollar dressage horses or a next Scamper a chance o make something of them selves. Sorta of how people only think of getting hurt when you think of bull riding. The bulls are simply trying to get a flank rope off -_-

I have a pic of a pony(we have bucking ponies o.o) doing the EXACT same thing except the rider was a GIRL instead of a boy and was like 10 or 11 unlike this older rider.And the pony was closer to the ground(they ish short)

Whoa..never thought of a horse in a pose like this. Truly shows the power of a horse - boy that cowboy's in for a ride, if he stayed on that is.

I love this horse. xD
And I support rodeos because otherwise the horses are on a plate in france. They take decent care of them, as you can see by this horse's beautiful, immaculate coat.

Thats true unfortunately. If rodeo was stopped today like the animal rights people want all of the animals would be pretty much screwed. Right now as bucking stock they're valuable , some VERY valuable!! Without rodeo their value goes down to meat prices 
I have been especially impressed with Flying Diamond stock, they're all slick and glossy, pretty clean, and generally people friendly...and rank SOBs lol!! Back when a buddy of mine rode broncs (many years ago) he rode a lot of Frank Beards stock (Frank owned the Flying Diamond until last year I believe) he says all of the broncs were halter broke and some would be led into the arena by kids!!

You know, thats the problem with the AR way of thinking. You all seem to think that horses and bulls are SO stupid that there is just NO WAY that they could ever be TAUGHT to buck! Oh nonono it MUST be pain and suffering! Never mind when most horses are being taught that they're rewarded for accepting the saddle, these horses are being taught that they're rewarded for bucking. Never mind that I've witnessed, on several occasions, broncs bucking their entire ride when the flank strap had fallen off in the beginning. Never mind that there wasn't a hotshot being used at all (yes I DO keep an eye out for these things!!). And never mind that I was actually there witnessing the event, YOU read some blather on SHARKs page so YOU must know more about rodeo than I do! Tell me, are there many American rodeos in the Netherlands, hon?
And dont give me that whole "Thats a great picture but I hate you" crap, it just makes me mad.

and that bit about horses keep bucking even when the strap has fallen off? they indeed learned that, that when the human has fallen off the straf will be removed (a sort of reward)

i understand but that's totally unfair! i didn't say that and i'm sorry if that's the way you took it.
and no i haven't seen a rodeo up close in The Netherlands. why? because it's forbidden! but you probably knew that.. hence the idiotic and provocing comment..

Ok, heres the thing: Your post has four words about my image, the rest is about how awful rodeo is. That tells me that you are not actually here for my images, you're here to bash rodeo, which 1) puts you in that same category as all the others (which is why I treated you as such) and 2) puts me in grumpy defensive mode. I'm a rodeo photographer, a member of what PETA calls "The Rodeo Mafia", you cant hate rodeo and like me.
"You want to know the truth? Here it is" THIS is what I'm talking about. You, who have never witnessed a rodeo, see this youtube thing, assume its nothing but Gods own truth, and post it here like you know the "real" rodeo. Listen, I get that you love animals and want to help, but this video, what PETA and SHARK say, is NOT what rodeo looks like. They are lying to you and exaggerating rare (and tragic) accidents and isolated (and wrong!) cases of abuse.
Yah those calves got jerked down kind of bad, what they never show is them getting up again and trotting just fine back to the herd. The injury and abuse shots? Those are the SAME images that PETA and SHARK have been using for YEARS. For years they have not been able to come up with anything else. Why? Because it is so so SO uncommon!
If I've said it before I've said it a million times: I went to the horse races maybe a dozen times. In those times I watched two horses die on the track. After that I never went back. If rodeo was as awful as they would have you believe, if I had witnessed stock getting abused, constantly injured , or killed I. Would. Have. Nothing. To. Do. With. It. Period.

I agree with u whole heartedly Sorrelstang... Rodeo is a beatiful thing peoole need to actually experience it before they judge!! u cant just watch a sad sappy(rare) you tube video and think its such an aweful thing i LOVe horses because i can connect with them i ride and my husband is a profesional bareback bronc rider alon with Bobby Mote his cousin..... its not hard its saving them training an alrdy brilliant animal to do something extraordinary .. so people should bite there toungues and actually go behind the seans on more than just a fes rodeos before they go opening there traps and dissing rodeo and its stock... uve earned my watch and fav <3 I love ur work and keep fighting for whats right NO horse should be slaughtered when it can be taught an amazing Sport thats bred into it from birth! <3 U! keep fighting!!

What I really love about this shot is the contrast between the black and white part and the coloured part. Also of the wild foreground and the calm background (the guys just standing there). This is so great!
