Does Vale have a military in this AU or is that a WIP?

No, actually. While they DO have a Great War holdover in the Vale Rangers (wip) they have come to rely on the Huntsmen for protection... To their cost...

Well crap. I kind of imagined Vale having its own Marine Corps based of the Aliens franchise's USCMC to be honest.

well, I doubt they'd be that advanced, for one. We're talking about an army from a setting of swords and shields here. And Atlas/Mantle would have been more advanced in any case.Β

My position on the armies of Remnant is, based on the current tech level and that people (in the cities at least) are used to such things as Cars, the CCTS and Airships, they were roughly at a Vietnam level of technology during the Great War (Or at least Mantle was.) As we saw, Swords and Shields are still viable combat options in this setting (Jaune's weapon dates from the Great War) so likely massed Machine Guns and WMD's have not been invented or used on a level that rendered close-quarters fighting like that obsolete. as the series shows, Multi-barrel Machine guns and automatic pistols are common NOW (as are Laser guns XP ) but that doesn't mean they were common during the Great War, hence why my Mistral Marines have Lever-Action rifles and a Bolt-action rifle (albeit a technobabble energy one) was considered high technology.Β

Well the ideas I had for an AU would have been the VMC (Thats the name I gave the Vytalian/Valean Marine Corps) would be on par with Atlas and other military forces in present times, minus the robotic soldiers and Bullheads which would be replaced by the Avatar's Samsons and Scorpion Gunships along with the Aliens' Cheyenne Dropship (Turns out its theorized that James Cameron's Avatar is in the same universe as Aliens and Predators.). Also the armor wouldn't be effective as Atlesian soldiers armor but it would make up with the heavier firepower of the Dust Pulse Rifle which fires 10mm explosive tipped rounds at a fast rate of fire and the Smart Guns. That's just how I picture Vale's military force in one of my stories.

It certainly sounds cool, and by all means go for it, but in the context of the MM! AU i'm going for the route i described.Β

Of course, POST Great-War-II.....that's another story....

*Reads comment* Mmm.... I think he/she MIGHT simple despise Whitley a bit. Not too much, just a bit. XDΒ

Knights of Mantle have definitely got my attention, I've always had a thing for secretive knightly organizations (except the Dark Angels) and it's nice to see you creating a non-political group for once.

Humanity First... I'm not gonna, the name is really bland.

Also, what is Heydrich's role in all this? You've implied several times that he's very important yet you've barely mentioned him after JJ joins the NP. My two current theories are that he's the guys pulling the strings and Butler is just a mouth piece, or that he's going to serve as the Erwin Rommel to Butler's Adolf Hitler.

More so in your AU in my opinion, since they haven't yet suffered a second Great War or a meteor strike in you MM AU.

Yeah you do, it's like playing an hour of The Last of US and then immediately jumping into This Is Us

Not gonna lie....I feel like I'm kinda running outta steam. I don't want to just slam home the end of the story ( and I do have one) im just feeling uninspired lately.

Did you see my status post?

You have spent so much time focusing your energies on the world building
that you don't have any left to work on writing the story itself.Β

I know because I fell into that place when trying to create this world whenΒ

that's one of the reasons for my latest Journal: i've got the story blocked out, now i just need to fit all the pieces i've collected together.Β

Its like trying to build a lego set without the instructions sometimes XD.Β

I saw and i'm glad you managed to get to this phase of creatingΒ
the AU.Β

Although I think you should use a dual narrative to tell both stories simultaneously.
One for the generations of teams JNPR and RWBY, the other on the generation of
teams BAZL and SFRN. Β
