I really like the glowing purewhiteness of the unicorn standing his ground on what is clearly his (her?) territory. Looks as if he's one of the last pure things left in a world of impending evil and enveloping smoke.

This piece is so inspirational. It really touches on the essence of faith in the unreal, in immagination. Sometimes I think I feel just like that unicorn! I haven't seen a better picture yet!

I think I'm starting to sing "The Last Unicorn" by America in my head. I like the contrast and definitely the idea behind it.

I don't think this'll be seen amidst the other comments. But I really like the composition of the piece, and your comments on it. I like that you took that realistic and limited view of the world and turned it into an unfeeling city alone in the distance and put a dragon to guard it against the creativity and life of the unicorn. that's a really cool concept and a very well done piece. I like it a lot.

You are very, very skilled at drawing horses, and that's something not many can boast. The feel of this image is really great, and I love how it can be taken many ways. I really enjoy just looking at it. XD

Nice job! I love how the title really goes with the picture...I actually didn't see the dragon at first so I just thought the whole world was "evil" and the unicorn was "good"--going into the realm of evil and facing it off.
But the dragon "hovering" is awesome too!

You know, I couldn't find a screen shot of it, but this reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Marge took up painting. She entered a piece of Homer passed out on the couch in his underwear, and when it came time to pick the blue ribbon-winner, it was chosen over a painting of a sad unicorn looking over its shoulder at the viewer with a text bubble that said 'why?'above its head, and a polluted city in the background. If this unicorn you did would just turn its head back at us, it would be practically the same thing. Watch the Simpsons much?

it's beautiful and all. but i just feel the buildings of the "other" realm should have been more evil looking and treacherous (for lack of better terms), like gothic buildings and dark, black castles hidden in the shadows. sorry if you hate me, that is just my opinion.

I don't hate you. I enjoy feedback. However, the buildings are actually a city and not necesarily is it the evil in this picture. I guess in my words it's humanity corrupted.

UNLESS you were trying to make the buildings look "good" but just in an unfortunate setting to have the horse have something to relate to and be familiar with to spark the first kernel of curiosity which produces interest in an entrance to the forbidden land. like the horse knows it is wrong to pass, but it sees the buildings and says they are good so it can't be that bad. but it is really just giving an excuse, trying to convince itself to make a move.

This looks just amazing! The near leg on the unicorn looks a little thick in comparison to the others, but aside from that, just incredible! I really love how realistic this is, but at the same time how it looks almost like a traditional painting. You really did "bring it to life"
