Description

 Piercer headed missiles

 Cruise missiles

 Missile bay

The “wings” on Cyclon ships don’t provide lift or aerodynamic benefits. They are surfaces used for radiating heat and an attachment point for mounting systems away from the superstructure, like the warp drive, and shield emitters.

 Communications equipment, and sensor instruments

Standard Panoramic Bridge, same size as most Cyclon capital ships

 Escape craft

Translation: Evacuatory vessel, do not fire upon

actuating fins only deploy after escape craft has been launched

 High power headlamps

 Port-side shield emitter

 Port-side Backup Shield emitter

Fuel and coolant feeds to tanks housed in the fuselage.

 Duranga-tori sub-light engine

warp ring circumscribes the sub-light engine

 Duranga-tori sub-light engine

Special Features: The Rendo classes’ hangar bay is placed in a position that makes the towing of cargo containers out of it possible. Despite the two extremely powerful Duranga-tori sub-light engines being situated right besides this hangar, they are stilll far enough away to not damage any objects directly behind the bay. The third engine is above the horizontal top of the hangar, and it’s thrust is well out of the way of any trailing containers. This ability is widely taken advantage of throughout the fleet, with many Rendo class ships serving as an extremely heavily armed logistics ships, or as escorts of cargo convoys that can carry as much as the ships they’re defending. Like many ships that carry cargo in a manner like the Rendo, it cannot enter atmospheres. A godsend for this problem is it’s detachment of Garer-drova tank landers, which can easily ferry cargo into the toughest of conditions, and can defend itself doing it. While the Rendo class exceeds as a transport ship, it’s firepower is needed on the front lines, and it’s overarmed for that role. There has been a variant of this ship developed that focusses on a cargo role, and it strips some of its weapons to better serve this purpose.  This variant, called the Kola-Rendo has the ability to carry cargo into an atmosphere by utilizing an improved antigravity system, (many of it’s weapons were removed to make room for this) and an assembly under the rear center engine, that stabilizes the containers when entering atmosphere. The missile bay on the top of this variant was also replaced with a second cargo bay.

Description: The Rendo class cruiser is one of the most numerously produced ships of the Cyclon space force. It’s versatility, reliability, and firepower gave it the reputation of an all-around solid starship. It was usually deployed alone, to protect far flung Cyclon worlds and territories, and could easily take on any GDL ship smaller than a cruiser.

Fun Facts:  GDL propaganda, meant to rally support for the campaign against the Cyclons, avoids rendering Rendo class ships. Ships such as the Urray-Jed are often shown as an example of the lunacy of Cyclon warmongering, or small frigates like the Pelathon class are often depicted being decimated by sleek, beautiful GDL cruisers, but the Rendo class fits a niche that is often hidden from the public eye. The Rendo class is a straight-forward, smart design that would garner more inquiry into Cyclons than hatred for them.
