Special Features: The Cornega class is one of the rare cases where a Cyclon capital ship has the ability to land without the use of existing infrastructure. Even smaller ships like the Pelathon class aren’t equipped with landing gear. The design of the Cornega class embraces this ability and it’s hangar doors have extendable ramps, and platforms that can be lowered for personnel access.

Description: The Cornega class destroyer is one of the more practical Cyclon capital ships. It has a long, sturdy superstructure, and an inefficient, but durable warp ring. This warp ring has an unusually encompassing structure around it. This makes it extremely durable compared to most other ships, but is on the lower end in terms of speed, as the ventilation required at higher speeds cannot be supplied in such an obscured drive. However, what it lacks in FTL speeds, it does make up for in it’s sub-light capabilities, with the Cornega class clocking in higher speeds than some bombers, in the right conditions. This can be attributed to it’s utilization of 4 Duranga-tori sub-light engines, 1 more than it’s cruiser class older brother.

Fun Facts: The “wings” on the Cornega class actuate into a horizontal position, to provide clearance for the engines when landing. This also provides more headway for any vehicles leaving, or entering the hangar.
