In 1993, as a 10 year-old newbie to Doctor Who, I learnt from the back pages of the monthly Doctor Who Magazine that fans will argue over anything and debate discontinuity and canon. While the methods have changed, people still argue over what is and what should (or shouldn't) be.

Anyway, here's the earliest of 8 pre-Hartnell incarnations of The Doctor, as suggested by the story 'The Brain of Morbius' and expanded upon off-screen in novels. While I can easily wrap my head around the 'Timeless Child' and it's suggestion of even more pre-Hartnell incarnations (whether they took the name 'Doctor' or not), I prefer to use the order presented in 'The Brain of Morbius'. The...ahem...actor used for the original version of this image was Christopher Barry, who directed "The Brain of Morbius". In my head canon, I believe this incarnation came after the 'Fugitive Doctor', who we will revisit in the future...
