Description
This is a fan fiction drawing of Doug Rattmann, based off of a page from Valve's comic Portal 2 - Lab Rat.It is perhaps my favorite scene, because it's the part where Doug is struggling over leaving his newly gained freedom from Aperture Laboratories to go back inside to rescue Chell. His "talking" companion cube is trying to convince him that risking his life for someone else is what only heroes do. And it doesn't want him to be a hero, because that means he might die.
In case you haven't read the comic and are wondering what happened, Doug eventually makes the right choice and decides to go after Chell. That's probably what impressed me most about him, that he could sacrifice himself for someone else even after all that he'd suffered through. He really is an admirable character.
By the way, I know the picture isn't the best quality. That's because I drew it by hand instead of using digital software like a lot of professional artists do, and I had to scan it on my low-quality printer. However, I think anyone viewing this artwork will appreciate it anyways, because art doesn't have to look amazing to be amazing. Know what I mean?
If anyone could give me advice on how to make my pictures higher quality, I would gladly appreciate it. Thanks!

Aww thank you! I'm actually working on a short fan fic comic right now that explores what might have happened if Chell found Doug in Portal 2. I started it a year ago so it is a bit outdated for me (my drawing style evolves over time) but I am determined to finish it just for old times' sake. I'll probably post it up here when it's done.
