PART I: Create a sketch of a sketch of any design you would like. Just a sketch. Color is an option. Anything that is appealing to you
my submission for part 1: [link]

PART II: you will be finishing one of your competitors designs. It should show your singular point of view. You can not take off a considerable amount of the previous design but may take something that you feel doesn't represent your design style and is distasteful to you, and if they have listed colors, you must keep them!!! Prints, keep them! Fabrics listed, keep them! You may add things to the design.

the first thing i noticed when i looked at the design was how different it wwas from what i usually design, but not too terribly different, so i knew it wouldn't be that much of a stretch to make it my own.

i made some changes to the design....i took off the frills, since they're not my style at all. instead of the wrap style panda had going on the sketch, i made it more of a straight line....and i moved the bustle up and gave it more layers for added fullness. I changed the back from an oval type cutout to a square cutout.

FABRICS:
Dress- cotton
Bustle & Underskirt- cream gathered chiffon and gold lace
Piping- metallic gold
Belt- gold leather
Inset- gold lace with gold ribbon

i think i did good on keeping the general feel of panda's original design, yet still making it my own to create something fun, and rich looking.
also i don't know why my model is asian this week. i guess i thought it just fit.
