My very first attempt at a con badge! Prismacolor markers, inking pens, and some white gel pen for the highlights; I'm super happy with how it turned out!This past weekend was AZ Furcon, a furry convention I'd actually never heard of until last week- but it was quite literally only a few blocks from my house, so I couldn't say no to checking it out! It's pretty small still, but I met some really nice people and had a great time; I only got to go for a bit of Friday and all of Saturday, but it was totally worth it. |Da I love getting to see everyone's costumes and folks just being silly and having fun!
The lamination darkened the colors and obscured some details a bit, so you can see the original scan here if you want: Zeon badge scan
I don't work with markers very often, so I am extremely pleased with how well that gradient turned out- I wasn't sure I'd be able to pull it off, but I did! The trick seems to be using the lighter color to blend the edges, rather than trying to blend with the dark.
(It's a big badge too, from top to bottom it's as big as my hand!)
Alas though, with babby's first conbadge and babby's first furry con came babby's first con crud, too- I've been sick since Monday, ughh |''Da;; So between that, the con itself and me scrambling to finish this badge in time, that's why I've been kind of quiet and behind on here, sorry guys! Hopefully I can get a bit more caught up soon!

Oh wow, I had no idea you were stationed in AZ, that's awesome!! Though if it makes you feel any better, I actually had NO idea this existed until not even a week before the event; I usually wind up missing things too 8'D I hope you're able to catch the next event, if you're still here!

Yes! I'm stationed near Phoenix haha and wowie I just experienced my first summer here (I did not know such heat existed on this planet) ;A; I should be here for about the next three years, so I definitely hope to make the next event!

Oooh, neat!! 8D I live in some of the surrounding areas near Phoenix myself! But yes, oh my GOD it gets hot here, I am so sorry you had to deal with that for the first time 8'''D It is BRUTAL. But on the plus side, at least the winters are super mild. I need to keep better track of when events are myself, but if I can I'll try to remember to give you a heads up for any I hear about! (Also wow, three years is a while! Aside from the summer heat, what do you think of AZ so far?)

As for my feelings on AZ, it's alright! Better than what I thought it would be haha Phoenix is a pretty busy place!
Honestly, the only things I'd wish for are more rain and some grass haha
There's lots to do and I'm amazed with how cheap housing and gas are here (I'm from California originally; housing and gas prices are NUTS over there haha)
