Okay, so kind of a long story behind how I got here.mentioned that Gytha and Toki would make a good couple. I'm not entirely convinced, but I thought it would make for a cute picture.
Someone else (can't remember who, sorry) asked for a 'Viking' pic.
My first thought was that with Gytha's luck, in Viking times, she'd be tied up in front of a wall with drunk Berseker!Toki trying to cut her pigtails with battleaxes.
I might still do that comic. >>
I was looking through books for Viking fashion when I found a couple pages on Valkyries: you know, the mystical battlemaidens that carry slain warriors to Valhalla? Well, apparently once they get to Valhalla, the Valkyries put aside thier armor and wait on the fallen warriors for the rest of eternity.
That's right; they're waitresses.
I don't know about you, but if I got to Valhalla and got the title of 'Sheild Maiden of Odin' and then they handed me an apron and tray, I'd be pissed.
Evdently that's what happened here, because Toki's request to 'Wait on him in Valhalla' was interpreted as much more romantic than it actually was.
That turkey is about to end up in somebody's lap.
But, misinterpretations and eternity in servitude aside, the important thing here is that after he dies, Toki gets his cat back.
I *fairly* pleased with the coloring. It's okay, I guess. Background is from an interactive exhibit on Vikings in Iceland.

Since it's Asgard, Toki would survive the experience, though he'd probably wish he hadn't. ^^

Damn, sorry if I insulted you. I didn't look at it good enough and only assumed it was a wolf's pelt. Now that I look it over again I feel like an idiot. It's like they did it on purpose, as if they knew we were watching XD ~ ! I couldn't help but let out high pitched squeals almost the entire episode. I was highly dissapointed that Toki was drunk, but to tell you the truth he seemed to be ( .. can I even say ) adorable ( ? ) when he was drunk.

I'm sorry, I just try my hardest not to offend people. I use to get really .. discouraged and easily upset when people use to misinterpret what I draw. Than again my art was far worse than it is now as impossible at it seems. Like I drew someone laying down in my youth and someone would say " Wow, she's flying so high up! " . But still, if you look at the jaw line you can distinguish what animal it is. You just have to look it over once or twice. Plush the color also gives it away.
