FULLVIEW/READ/COMMENT APPRECIATED. i know it's long but please bear with me. it's relevant. and intelligent. and FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY! Profanity blames herself for the fall of Ishbal. Maybe that's why she drinks so much and is such a little asshole all the time. A SHOT EACH FOR THE FALLEN SOULS OF ISHBAL... A joke character at first concept, Profanity has undoubtedly become the brainchild of something important (besides the bishies and the superscience) that drew me into FMA/HNR in th first place. THE FUCKIN POLITICS!! basically Ishbal is like, an ingenius satire of the war on terror and the annihilation of the native americans COMBINED. who knew arakawa-san was so punk rok?--
down in the sleepy valley town, the lanterns are still burning in a rural ishballan mosque...

she never got the chance. turns out priest-man takes the low road the fuck out of there, and lets everyone else die. when pro watches him flee downstairs she panics, and hurries to execute their final means of defense. debris from the initial attack round the amestrians fired falls and cracks her in the head (DENTED HELMET) and she drops the switch. as she's worm-crawling reaching for it, someone stamps on her wrist, and when she turns around the last thing she sees in her human existence is martel's knife swooping down to carve her trachea clean out of her throat. they glare at eachother a moment and then she dies. when "profanity" is reborn as a clumsy, zombie-like abomination in lab five, the use of maaany prisoners (including a skilled alchemist) and her badly-patched original body maintain her memories of her life and death. but her mocha skin is now a pale pink-grey. her beautiful dark hair and eyes are a ratty lilac color. she bears the devil's mark upon her "new" body. about a year before everyone else does, whacked out on a red-stone power trip, she eventually breaks out. she swears to never forgive the amestrians and to destroy them when she is most able, and turns her back to ishballah. not of course, before a lot of spitting and swearing at him for failing to save her and her people. she still harbors the same pride and disdain for the government as she always had as an ishballan, oddly enough. she just hates god. that's profane.
she was kept apart from the ex-soldiers in the chimera ward. that she catches up with them YEARS later under greed is... ludicrous. but as a minor sin not fostered by dante, none of the other homuns would tolerate her existence. she keeps her indentity a secret and battles the still-confusing female feelings she was raised to suppress in ishbal. THAT GUY MAKES MY NO-NO-PLACE TINGLE, WTF IS THAT ABOUT SRSLY. she openly hates on martel, though, regardless of their likeminded hatred for the military and their unity in cause. no one really knows why until her true gender and background are revealed. then hilarity ensues. (with jello wrestling and fluid exchange)

lyrics are © immortal technique. and he'd probably shoot me for using them. not joking, i feel kinda lame. but it fit the subject matter. the crescent moon and the AK were hand vectored (no font cheats here, fags)
FUCK GRADIENTS FOREVER. I NEVER WANNA SEE ONE EVER AGAIN. only on like ten or so layers, but all the different opacities/blend modes made late-production edits a pain in the ass. AND IT WAS FRICKIN HUGE too many forms. i had to restart my computer a few times before i decided to downsize it
DEET-DEE-DEE. i have to keep things more simple. my SFX aren't worth the effort. too fade-y and jumbled. recognize the fire? it's from Moon over Marin 's construction file (which i luckily saved). that fire sucks. stupid motherfucking RAM-eating fire.and wtf is with the goofy greed, you ask? he appeared there very early on and i just never had the heart to give him the chop. so he doesn't really fit in. he's also been reversed so he doesn't look right as he did when i drew him facing the other way. and the stars look like he drew them. starting with the FUCK YOU finger, this was originally intended to be a very lighthearted/comical piece (profanity was smiling.) the elements just kept building.
i don't think i need to disclaim. i am a political loudmouth but i am broke and harmless. that, and no one should be offended by a TV show.

breda is the only other military guy i like. but he doesn't do much in the series.
havoc x lust was awesome. too bad that was left out of the anime :/ havoc smokes. that's kinda cool. i guess.
mustang is a twat. hawkeye is brainwashed, disillusioned hippie turned murder machine. mustang x ed is way worse though.

coincidentally i tried doing that last night (on the topic of weird sexy images). there are a bunch of half-doodles with bits of boobs and fucking in them all in my sketchbook (as have probably been seen). WHY IS IT SO HARD TO DRAW SEXUAL STUFF EVEN THOUGH WE PWN SO HURRD!?

I like the way you colored it in, your very talented with making back ground and coloring the characters figure. You really measured the colors to the right areas, which i have problems with.
Fullmetal Alchemist really is a good show to look at considering all the action, realistic moments and drama in it. Greed wasn't one of my most favorite characters from the show, but he was a cool person. He kinda creeped me out with his abilities and needy personalities oo;;

Yeah, I'm pretty much learned a few new things lately in photoshop too, even though people say I suck all the time for an unatural reason. I used the airbrush tool alot on my newest pic so it make me a couples levels up on my art ability in PS.

i remember when i used to airbrush everything. when i used a vector form, it was just to draw something really quick. i would rasterize it and then airbrush all over it, i considered it "cheating" it was so much easier than airbrushing an entire form.
you should try it! it's so versatile, and vector art is in demand. and a lot of people seem to not understand it very well.
airbrushing is hard dude! i would never say an airbrush artist sucks.

...photoshop is for chumps. i use PSP. it's not nearly as powerful/far fewer tricks up its sleeve. you kidna have to... make it work for you harder.

PSP = paint shop pro. it's pretty much the lead competing program against photoshop. artists tend to bicker over which one is better. it just depends on your philosophy really.

well, as far as direction, i think i agree with you, but i suppose it can be a pretty touchy subject. still, the ishablan war and the racism expressed towards the ishalans in fullmetal alchemist is interesting because it's not something you normally find in anime, or very many shows at all, at least in the us, because i think it would offend somebody seeing as there are so many different races here...

who would be offended? it was definitely executed smartly enough that if i were of any middle eastern descent i would've been like "THIS IS AWESOME!" the absurdity of the ishballan war in FMA puts the real war in the middle east into even sharper perspective for a very valuable audeince (japanese viewers and american youth/twentysomethings) who might not otherwise have an opinion. if not the entire war, than the ignorant racism in the least. it's an analogy, it makes you realize something you couldn't figure out with only one example. looking in at their world, it looks so much more fucked up. but it's no different. it really is an ingeunius series.
and yes, that is very rare in anime. the only other series i've seen on TV to depict americans/europeans/white people being nasty was samurai champloo. it's not about hate, it's about truth. i'm a white american... and an anti-racist... so i loved the truthfulness and the real world issues brought up on those two series in reference to imperialism and racism. like they finally showed the man and wife sleeping in the same bed on them old TV shows

yeah, america and censorship... they want to edit EVERYTHING! i don't watch FMA dubbed, but i am happy to atleast hear that the show was left unedited, that in itself shows MAJOR improvement from when i started watching anime.
then again, as far as ishbal, somehow they manage to makie it so, if you aren't really looking for it, you will just see a normal war and little racism. it's not what the stress the most on, afterall. but once you think about you do realize that they did know what they were doing when they put that in there.

oh yes, the goverment's ulterior motives instigated a war in a place that the people didn't understand and would fight without too much question. just like in the real world. and i understand it's the background activity of the series... which focuses more on the main plot. that was classy. it doesn't shout it at you.
and the dub of FMA is really really good, if it's all you watch. but like all things when you watch the subs and the dub side by side you can clearly pick out which one is better

i experienced the dub when i played through the crimson elixer game... and the only voice that really seemed okay was ed's voice, but i don't think vic works for him, although he is a pretty talented actor. well, and hawkeye's voice wasn't bad either...

none of the voices really bothered me. i mean yeah they sounded different, but they weren't like... off. EXCEPT for ed's voice, wtf are you talking about rofl? they got a kidalink to be al, but they got a thirtysomething guy to play his fifteen year old brother?! that was bogus.
the only problem with any of the voices was once again... the acting was kinda hammy from time to time. but the sound was all right, in my opinion.
