Alexis Luthor, Legion of Superheroes. One of the best things that came out of the first season of the show was Alexis. I thought she had a lot of potential but second season we weren't able to use her at all because of a network edict not to use as many female characters which is why Saturn Girl had to be dispatched early in episode two for most of the season. Later on those restrictions were loosened up and we got to bring Saturn Girl back, introduce a version of Ayla, and give some screen time to Shrinking Violet, Phantom Girl and even Dream Girl, who got an episode to herself. But it would have been nice to get Alexis back in action.Related content

I be my money that those decisions were made to get some toy dealt done which were pointless since we never got a Legion toy series . Bravo Network geniuses

Well, Superboy never actually hated Alexis. Like with Lex, it was a one-way thing. As for how their relationship would end up, SpawnofSprang says on his other Alexis picture (in her prison garb) that original plans would have had her teaming up with Imperiax but betraying him in the end and becoming a hero, earning her a political position (President Lex reference, XD). While I think she'd still be morally dubious as a politician, this at least indicates that she's not all bad and there is good in her.

Thanks , At least I can have some closure on that and it greatly makes my day knowing Alexis was not a complete evil character like the rest (sorry Esper) even if they were just early drafts.

Yeah, even in the only episode made with her I got the sense that the people behind the show wanted her to be an obvious homage to Lex Luthor, but not an exact gender-flipped copy. She's got her own layers to her. 8)

So many interesting Layers, And I think she fit more into the misundertood villian as she seems like someone who had no friends and therefore had no idea how to treat them. Plus her robot servant was awesome !

We would have seen some excellent drama too. She still hate Superman for ignoring her and nearly singed her hair off. She also hates the Legion for taking away Superman, but at the same time "thanked" them for realizing her purpose as a supervillain, and to get back at anyone who alienated her.

I loved Legacy, the twist on the classic Superboy story was so clever. Though it's disappointing to hear you were asked not to use the girls in season two.
