My first drawing of the Triplicate Girls for The Legion Of Superheroes cartoon. I loved how this turned out and it was my first and only design for them. Sometimes your first pass is the one that sticks. As is obvious in the marker comp, I did intend them to be more 'ethnic' looking, shall we say. By the time they made it to screen, that was debatable,since they only look slightly tanned and sound like Valley Girls, but now the truth can be known. Also, they weren't originally intended to have speaking parts or even be included in the plot of the series but we put them in the first episode anyway because we just needed to have more players for action and with Triplicate girl you get three! Anyway, once everyone saw them in action, we were allowed to use them more.
