Description
A sequel to [link] inspired by ~KirbyM 's latest update to create.swf. For a good idea of how I said the last line, view this video: [link]A list of props that would be needed and programmed for this version of create.swf:
Tops:
-Solid
-Button-Up
-Tie Button-Up
-Overshirt
-Suit
-Open Suit
-Robe
-Camo
-Dress
-School Uniform
-Maid
-Maiden
-Kimono
Bottoms:
-Pants 1 (cuffed)
-Pants 2 (solid)
-Solid skirt
-Pleated skirt
-Aproned skirt
-Checkered skirt
-Kimono Bottom
-Camo Pants
Arms:
-Short Sleeves, Straight
-Short Sleeves, Poofy
-Long Sleeves, Straight
-Long Sleeves, Poofy
-Detached sleeves
-Kimono sleeves
-Sleeveless Gloves
-Short Sleeve Gloves
-Outstretched versions of all of these
Hats:
-Baseball Cap
-Mob Cap
-Beret
-Bow
-Maid Hat
-Hairband
Glasses:
-Small Circular
-Small Square
-Large Circular
-Large Square
-Tiny Circular
What To Code:
-Add the Adv. Character Button
-Essentially copy and paste the Simple Character Data, add a few parts, make a longer DNA strand, and apply the colorize feature to all of the different clothes. That would be roughly 46-48 costumes with 1-4 recolorable parts. An advanced DNA would have at most 6 colors in its strand.
-Add the appropriate buttons to the Advanced Character menu.
-Either program the Cloning Capsule to allow Advanced DNA or make an Advanced Cloning Capsule Toy (maybe color it red).
If only I could either become the new create.swf coder, convince the new create.swf coder to add these features, or make a separate program without infringing on kirby's rights.

it's funny you mention this as I'm working on trying to get the skin color feature perfected(all arms support, and adding body skin color support).
Although this IS possible, it could be very time consuming, as each color on an asset has to be turned into it's own separate asset, and this would have to be done with every recolorable asset.
I can use the same technique as the skin color, but it's taking a fair bit of time just adding skin color, and that's just 1 color, only on arms, and a few body assets.
It's still possible to use Wafas Recolor to create pre-rendered advanced recolored characters, since it can easily edit entire character parts on the fly.

I think that's why Spaztique here decided on the option of an "Advanced Character" that use a different assets, rather than the vanilla-made characters.

I second this idea, customisible walfas characters all the way! I hope a more advanced danmaku pattern maker gets implemented too. The current one is good but plenty of room for improvement.

Agreed. I am tired of opening paint.NET to color in clothes.

They also need a skin colour changing option on walfas.
I love this idea!
I hope it comes into effect.

Actually, I KirbyM did see this, but as it stands, Kirby's busy and Thefre's got his own projects. Luckily, there is a third party looking into create.swf v4's development using the above ideas, but it'll take a while for them to reverse engineer the code so everything can be recolored. I just hope they finish it by January: it sounds awesome!

Well...It's a good idea that you could do it Spaz. I also support your idea. But I hope you take breaks sometimes. I mean you have a lot of work to do and doing these at the same time can be stressful. Once again it's a good idea Spaz. I just hope things will be alright for you.

These are actually some pretty cool ideas! Though it might take a while to change the engine to work for this stuff. On an unrelated note, Kosuzu reminds me of Madoka for some reason...

I'd love to, but this comic is just theorhetical. Even if I could do it, coding/testing would take weeks (and I'd have to subscribe to Adobe's Cloud service to rent Flash).
Also, doing the research regarding what it would take to make a modified version of create.swf/looking up the font for personal use, Wild Words is one of those fonts that's very hard to come by and costs roughly $300. If I had the chance to make the new create.swf, it'd need a replacement font. Digital Strip by Blambot ([link] ) is the closest thing I could come by, and personally, I think it looks a little cleaner than Wild Words.
Basically, if I got the chance to make Create v4.00, there'd be a new main font (and maybe a few more if I could do it, but remember: this comic is just theoretical). Would anyone mind Digital Strip replacing Wild Words?

I was actually being facetious. Replacing Wild words with digital strip? I'd love that...

You know what else would help? Overwrite function for saved characters.
It's annoying to see like 3 copies of same name and there's NO WAY to know which one is the newest one.

Ive had this idea in my head since a started using walfas, it has always bugged me how you where not able to re-colorize a few parts that could be easily re-colored. It would give walfas a million more of desings. but oh well

Or you could have a thingy where you have a bunch of templates and a 'fill' tool, so you can color one side of a jacket-ish thing blue and the other orange, for example.

Alternatively, another option entirely would be to include the ability to import vectors as well as rasters, which would get rid of a decent amount of the problem.

I'd like a little more positioning control. Maybe some basic program rigging so we can move feet, bend elbows, rotate arms individually. You know, so it's easier to make huggles look a little more natural

But Thefre is actually the one coding it, KirbyM is just there to enter the objects into the menus, so technically, you'll want to ask Thefre about this one...
Only if Thefre is still on the internet >_>

Spaztique In reply to Dualer [2012-11-04 04:42:35 +0000 UTC]
What's funny is I actually got a message from Thefre not long after submitting the idea. He said he's pretty much done with updating create.swf, but may eventually return to another comic maker using another engine. He also said it'd be better to reach kirbym about gaining the rights to edit create.swf.
Isn't that ironic: the guy who codes it is online, but can't do a thing, but the person who can greenlight us is never online unless it's to add canon characters.

And KirbyM probably updates only when canon characters come out just to make sure it's up to date.
