The siren begash is North America’s largest land animal, twice the size of a moose. Related to the giraffe, the okapi, as well as it’s extinct relatives, Sivatherium and Samotherium, the siren begash came from a lineage of giraffids that traversed to the America via a land bridge between between Alaska and Russia. It is found in the woodlands of Arizona and New Mexico, browsing on pine trees.
