"Why is it that, as the female characters on 'Zim' get older, their clothes stay the same size?" This question occured to me one day as I was browsing this site, looking at pictures of Gaz and Tak. As I looked at them I noticed that most of the time whenever they were pictured as teenagers their clothes were always either so tight that it's a wonder they could even breathe, or really freakin' short and barely even there. I just wondered why they never bothered to buy bigger size outfits as they aged 0_oThis little cartoon is not intended to offend anyone, cause a lot of people I know depict Gaz and/or Tak this way and they're always good drawings, and hey, if that floats your boat then fine. Even I've done some sexy-type pictures of the characters, but my beef is I never see Dib or Zim pictured this way. They're always pretty much fully clothed and don't have every part of their anatomy outlined in tight leather. Why is it always the females who get sexed up like this? It just irks me a bit. But it's just my opinion, being a female myself and all *shrugs* Well, whatever, take it or leave it. Or just lighten up and laugh at it, okay?

It is funny but as a female who hopes to draw comic books I get ticked off when boys look at my work and say I'll never get a job in cartooning cuz my female characters don't have D-cups! If you look in comics this is sadly true. But funny pic.

I agree with you on this one. I notice as well that their clothes never seem to get any bigger. And I also wonder why the guy's outfits seem to fit better and look looser.

nah, i didnt take it as a critisism. i thought that you made an actually good point on how the american comic is more male based than otherwise, unlike japanese comix, where they have character's change looks and costume as they mature... (i.e Dragon ball Z and ect...) you made an excellent point and i thought that your pic was really humorouse...

Haha, yes, I think I did that 'irk' thing on purpose. And yes yes I KNOW exactly why some people wanna see that sort of thing!! And it's F-I-N-E, FINE, people! Please! I totally get it already! Just to me, personally, being a female human-type creature who is not into girls, and honestly, not all that thrilled by sex, this is just my take on the situation. And I only rant like this cause I'm tired of people thinking I don't understand the other guy's point of view. I DO!! There's a simple answer to that question, or a simple way for you to find out.
For every sexed up female pic you see, go to that person's front page and see whether they are male or female. Ta-daaaa, and there you have it. Most of them will be males. If you find a female doing that, she might be a lesbian or something. At no point am I assuming or implying that you are one because you said you've drawn a few like this yourself.
And me being a male, I've thought about drawing some like that as well.
I know that may or may not be exactly right, but that's the way it is.

Hmm, good point. Yeah, I understand that, and acutally I DO like those kinds of drawings. They're more often than not interesting to look at. This wasn't intended as a critisism, but more as an observation that, yes, a lot of people draw them this way, which is cool. But for every pic I see of some super-skinny Gaz in some skimpy little number, I wish I could see one of a big, fat Gaz sitting on the couch playing video games or something LOL ^^ Thanx for commenting.

Hee, not only is this funny but I do see the point you are getting across. In fact, this "trend" is common in a lot of different fandoms (ie. "Daria", "The Simpsons"...I'm still trying to get the image of Jessica Lovejoy/Lisa Simpson bondage scrubbed out of my brain). I am totally all for you drawing Zim and Dib in some sort of scantily clad outfit for equal treatment. Besides, I have seen some shirtless Dib/Zim pictures floating around on here.

0_o eep! I've never seen that particular Simpsons image, but ~shudder~ I'm glad I haven't. And it's not even so much about wanting to see Zim or Dib in anything revealing, but rather seeing the girls in NONrevealing things. I did some anime'-style drawings of all the characters looking sexy, but not one of them has them looking SLUTTY. Everyone's pretty covered up and nothing is super revealing, so it CAN be done. Still, to each his/her own, so I don't like to preach or put others down for their tastes. Those kinds of pics are sometimes at least pretty imaginative ^^

Pics and conversations like this always make me wonder how this whole pairing thing got started among the fan-community of ZIM...I mean aliens who reproduce with tubes aint sexy...maybe it's because the show is popular espacially among havily puberying....(don't know if this word works) tennagers and young adults.......anyhow: *taking a deap breath* this pic is great.

Wow, you guys both make great points. I agree with a lot of it. I've never been very into pairing, but I can understand why some people might like pairing up characters, trying to humanize Zim by putting him with so-and-so or whatever. I guess it makes them seem more as, Dibsthe1 says, "cuddly." Me, I'd rather the show just be funny. There's too much drama on TV already. Still, people will always invent their own takes on the characters I suppose.

Henryking, I completely agree with you. One of the many things that drew me to this show in the first place was the complete and blessed absence of all this paiiiiiiiriiiiiing bullshit. 
Dib and Gaz are kids, obsessive and not all that cuddly kids at that, Zim and Tak are near-robotic soldiers of a hostile invading force, the Professor lives his job... all characters are designed to be as ANTI-romantic as possible!! 
Sigh. If the viewers weren't satisfied with the show as it was, why'd they bother to watch it then?

y do u only see females in impossibly tight cloths
b/c it is what is excepted by the population, even if they dont agree with it, people would rather see females in tight cloths than males (unless ur a straight/bi girl or a gay/bi guy

I know, I know -_-* I understand the reason people wanna see tight/short skirts and such on girls, and actually I really WOULDN'T want to see tight clothes on Zim or Dib (that... um... I don't know, I just wouldn't), but as one person said, what's wrong with having Gaz just laying around in a tee-shirt and jeans? Still, I'm not trying to discourage people from drawing whatever they want. This was really more an observation than a critisism. Anyhoo, thanks for looking.

Woah 0_o scariness... Yeah, I have seen some disturbing depictions of the other characters of course, but I only commented on the 'sexed-up female' thing cause the sheer volume of it outweighs anything else I've seen.
