Description A small, dingy insectoid nest tunnel. This is a small nest with few resources and low tech. Situated inside a mountain on Earth's fictional continent Kemio.

That's what I'm talking about! Shading is much better now, everything feels like a whole picture.
I can't compare this to any of your previous paintings because its much better but that doesn't mean its perfect.
You could do a bit more "blackening" where the tunnel goes out of the picture to improve the feeling that its drifting away (My english grammar is still too poor for me to explain this as I want, so just "blacken" the parts where the tunnel is going out of the picture and see how it looks, ok?)
Also, if you add a place on the object where the light shines so powerful it's almost white you can improve the whole 3D feeling even if the actual light in the tunnels is dim.
But again, amazing work, keep it up!

I'll keep those points in mind for next time. I had actually tried to give it stronger highlights but it came off as weird, like a dusting of snow, so I deleted that layer, took a step back, used broader dimmer strokes. Looked better. I think I need more practice at the light highlighting technique in order to make it look good.
