I've thought long and hard about what to say about this, what kind of AngryAussie-style rant to put with it. I started last Thursday, in response to S4's positive reviews which seem to have since gone downhill slighty. And there's all those haters out there talking about the physics, and the uncurling and even the music. ( ) It'll probably never affect me when I play it.
But I think instead I'll just leave everyone with an insightful little documentary about the history of Sonic...

(It makes me to know that 1. Sonic was originally meant to have fangs, (I happen to draw him with fangs a lot) and 2. Yuji Naka originally HATED the chubby design we know as Classic Sonic today, almost as though the lanky looks of modern Sonic were inevitably going to happen someday. Also there's a Jamey in the credits XP)
Don't anyone think I'm not painfully, heart-breakingly jealous of the nineties for all that amazing publicity the franchise had when it was popular. I'd love to see that now, just not with the classic version slapped on it.
Oh yeah! I put a little Classic there as a nod to the number of times he shows up in the game loading screens. I thought that was a nice touch.

It's from Japanese. In Japan, the word for hedgehog also means "needle mouse" (hari nezumi) and mr. needlemouse was the original name for the concepts that became Sonic. So Project Needlemouse.

Isn't it facinating that Mighty could have been the main character, since they originally chose between an amadillo and a hegehog? I's kinda interesting to imagine how the games and the presumed couple would be different...but difficult because it's hard to imagine Sonic being on the sidelines

It's not a rant, it's hardly even biased. It's just a documentary covering the origins and history of the franchise so far.. or at least up to 2008.

while i find the game enjoyable, i have to agree with the point about the music. it really wasn't good. it actually drags down a lot of the finer elements of the game - these elements i didn't realize were there until i exchanged the music with BGMs from sonic heroes. then, it was great.
