Description
I've been knitting for a while now and I've always wanted to try my hand at a tutorial. I know how much trouble I had figuring out how to knit when I first taught myself, so I thought I'd make a tutorial. There were so many out there, but not everyone's method makes sense with everyone else. Hopefully how I explain it helps someone out there.I plan to make one for knitting and pearling too and I'll see from there.
my Crochet Tutorial [[link] has a little more information about yarn types and a few better images of making a slip knot if you'd like to view it too C:

Huh... in all my kntting I have never thought to use single cast on method. I was shown double cast on and I've just always stuck with it. I should try this to see if it makes my edges look different.

You should! I tried the single cast on method and found that my first edge was very loose. Double cast on makes it pretty solid.

I know there are a bunch of different cast on methods, but I find it easiest to teach small children if you show them using their thumb. You can just put the loops on with your thumb and it works exactly the same, no shenanigans. I used to use the 2-tail method until my 15 year old sister and 7 year old cousin both spontaneously discovered this different easier method in separate teaching sessions. It was pretty cool. Now I can cast on 50 stitches in under a minute using a simple thumb slip method.
