Description
"The Great Gummiscope is in a mountain with an underground stream. It can send a message or burn with its beam." (Duke Igthorn)I took a break from working on commissioned art projects and quickly drew this little vision from my childhood that always embodied the mystery, inventiveness and charm of Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears for me: The Gummiscope. It was first introduced in the episode "Light Makes Right". This story was so incredibly exciting that I always sat on the edge of the couch while watching it.

Sometimes, yes. I've got a lot going on in real life recently, but I still think of the Gummies from time to time. Your webcomic looks nice - that's quite a project, isn't it?

I still remember all these years decades, later. Sigh... It is amazing how shows like this can stick with you. I always thought it was heartbreaking that even though they got confirmation that other Gummi colonies were out there, they never got to read the return message.

That was the most horrible moment of the show... Zummi was so... broken at the end of that episode. It really hurt watching him. *sighs*

Adventures of the Gummi Bears used to be my favorite Disney TV show next to Darkwing Duck and I remember watching it and the re-runs for so many times. Funnily enough, I only have a vague memory of the Gummiscope episode ...
Anyway, I really like how this turned out. Now I feel like a six-year-old again.

It actually appeared in several episodes, "Light Makes Right" was just the one that started it all. It ranks among the top Gummi-episodes in terms of plot, mystery factor and soundtrack. Oh... and in terms of Zummi being adorable.

Oh my goodness, this is my favorite episode of the Gummi Bears. I can still remember Zummi Gummi's ANGUISH over the fact that such a wonderful piece of gummi technology got destroyed.
The moment I saw this, I knew instantly that it was The Great Gummiscope. I loved this cartoon so much and just the LORE it had in everything. I really like the style you chose in drawing this, with a sketchier quality to it.

Zummi was rather downtrodden after that episode, yes. Before Gusto Gummi got rescued from that island in the middle of the ocean, Zummi was my favourite Gummi Bear. I've got a soft spot for sorcerors, I guess.

You're too kind to me, you know that... although being an illustrator full-time would be utterly amazing. However... being a teacher is fun, too.

Plus the fact that you're not teaching tiny children. Less screaming about who ate who's crayon in your classes.
