Description I really don't need to study his character much but I felt like doing this anyway. Drew it a while ago and colored it a few days ago. I like the middle right hand one the best.

I love the image of him with one of his eyes open... I also remember the line that he states when he actually does that in "If You're So Smart, Why Aren't You Rich?"... The line is "...brawn to match?" *snaps fingers*

Eddie! I love Edward Nygma (it's a Y in the BTAS series and I (usually) in the comics). He's one of my top favourite Batman villians!

I know. I guess I just forgot about the "Y" when I drew it. Thanks for the comment. It's always great to see another person who likes the Riddler!

I *adore* him! Ever since I was six and saw the Frank Gorshin's Riddler on the 1960s Batman series re-runs. I had the honour to meet Frank in a BatCon, he's SO nice! I ran out of money to get his autograph and signed it anyway and hugged me! I wish I had a camera that day. Of course, BTAS made me love the Riddler again! This time as the cool intellectual than the jumping giggler (not that's he wasn't cool), but I enjoyed John Glover's performance a great deal. He did an excellent job. I wished they gave him more episodes.

Oh, I was looking through your gallery, I love the Mad Hatter and the Scarecrow too! **snuggles Jervis**

Oh, that's cool! Actually I must admit I've never seen the old TV show of Batman. I was actually introduced to it through the movie Batman Forever but as you can see it went so much more beyond that. I wish they would've given him more episodes too. But such is the way with these things I suppose.

I looked around your gallery more as well. Sherlock Holmes and the Great Mouse Detective. Both very cool

I'd like to say, "You're not missing much" -- but, in a way, the 1966 Batman was both great and horrid. It's the '60s, what are ya gonna do? Frank Gorshin is something to see, I love his Riddler. It's so much fun to see him leap around in those green tights. Jim Carrey was a "copycat Gorshin". On of the reasons why BTAS didn't give Riddler more episode is because he's was VERY DIFFICULT to write for. The riddles couldn't be too difficult but not too easy.

Yes, Sherlock Holmes and Great Mouse Detective. A Sherlockian scholar at work.

Yes, I've heard people talk about the shaw that way before. *shrugs* And I heard about Jim Carrey being a copycat in that movie as well. I don't like Jim Carrey very much. He's kinda creapy.

And, yes, I KNOW he's hard to write about. I've tried before in fanfiction. Luckily the story wasn't about a scheme 'cause I could never make up a truly clever Riddler scheme. I don't even understand his questions sometimes esp in the comics much less the answers. He's cute that way, though.

Yeah, he is a little creepy. I've been raised off Frank Gorshin, so seeing Carrey skip, jump, leap, and giggle like Frank is a little wierd. I just wanted to hit him. As for Tommy Lee Jones, I adore him, though he's a HAM in Batman Forever but, for the most part, I loved to see him flare around. Yet it annoys me that he says "I" too much, not enough "We". Still, I prefer the BTAS version -- a failed romantic turned sadistic, crackly crimeboss, terrible, demonic, and very sympathic.

I get some of Riddler's riddles I can figure out here and there. My favourite one of his riddles goes way back, around the Silver Age: "10+10=10" -- Gloves, ten fingers on a glove, ten fingers on a hand, slip them on, you still have 10 fingers.

I dunno...I kind of like the one in the middle left, too. All of Riddler's expressions are great. You really know how to capture them. The colors you chose look almost exactly like the ones they used in the Animated Series, too. Very cool.

The riddler is most certainly an expressive character in the animated series, just adding more reasons as to why I like him!

Splrix In reply to Lonely-Invisible [2005-12-16 22:05:33 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, and it must be hard to be expressive when most of the time you can't see his pupils or eyebrows.

Definitely, giving more credit to the animators and creators of The animated series and the skill they had as artists! And to you as well for being able to draw his expressiveness too!

Oh, of course to the animators. nineteen ninety warner bro's cartoons were animated most excellently well, and thanks again.
