I may see about adding a background but I don't know, it'll depend on how it looks with one.But anyway a doodle of a concept of these two monsters meeting in battle.
It also seems a lot of people think the Blob would win but I stick by my view of it being a potential 50/50 between the two.

Ah yes it could be assimilated but that depends on if the THING-entity can do that before it's absorbed.

I don't think it was ever stated what kind of acid it used. I would presume it used some form of mutated digestive acid because it did seem to "consume" prey and grow bigger.

Personally, I think the thing would win... I mean, if you think back to the dog scene the thing squirted a liquid on them to infect them, why would it not be able to do it to the blob?

Yeah, I personally hope so. I mean The Blob is very highly corrosive, but I think it's just pretty much a misconception that they say it melts everything.

wow- this would be really an interesting match. I can't tell who's my favourite. Hm... the Blob would probably be infected while devouring the Thing and then the Thing has won although one entity of it would cease to exist XD

It is kinda interesting two out of three people I've spoken to think the Blob would win.
I think the Thing-organism does have an advantage as if a part of it is 'consumed' the other part would live and potentially escape so technically the Blob didn't kill it and win and also the Thing-organism only really needs to take over one cell for it to then assimilate the entire creature. Although we don't know if it can stand up to the Blob's melting capabilities enough for it to be able to do that. So I feel it to be a 50/50 it could go either way deal.
