here's some warrior ocs I've had in mind for a while, that I got around to designing.

Technically these two aren't even clan cats, but they're apart of my warrior universe. They are both members of the big "rogue group" I've been very vague about up till now.

This group of cats was only ever known as a rogue group by the clans, but that's not really accurate. The group has a formal structure and belief system that they've had for a long time - though the group has struggled and nearly dissipated in the past. (I don't have a name figured out for the group yet, so I'll just refer to it as The Group here for now)

A core belief in The Group is that all cats are born from the spirit of something in nature. And instead of going to an afterlife like StarClan when they die, they believe that their spirits will return to their original form. (except for a select few that are so connected to the group that they remain guardian spirits of sorts)

What spirit a kit is born from is discovered when their eyes open. The Leader or another high spirit member of The Group will be able to tell what spirit is within the kit by looking in their eyes. (any cat without eyes still has a spirit, but it would be undiscoverable) Mother's in the Group traditionally will not name kits until their spirit is discovered. Names can range from just "Flower" to "Flower Hidden Under Leaves" etc.

What spirit a cat is born with is believed to affect their capabilities and talent. Animal spirits are gifted hunters, scavengers and builders. Above them, Plant or Nature spirits are great protectors and potential healers. High spirits (moon, sun, sky, clouds, anything up above and out of reach basically) are the rarest and most spiritually powerful cats, and are the only ones allowed to become Leader. Cats from any rank may hunt or fight for the clan, but no cat can fill the role of spirit higher than their own. That's the rules anyway.

With that exposition out of the way I can finally talk about these two characters lol

Ant (just Ant) was born to mother who clearly didn't want kits, and only begrudgingly took care of her. Obviously Ant's spirit is from an ant. Just one tiny member of a colony. With this spirit she would be a great follower of course. A great builder, carer and hunter.

Ant wanted to be a healer, after she watched in awe as the healers took care of her when she got hurt or sick. But she was only ever reminded that she wouldn't be able to do it. As an only kit, Ant often felt lonely, but she found friendship with another kit her age - Fog Bathing in Early Morning (Fog for short.)

Fog was the son of Blaze (the current Leader of The Group.) He was always the quiet type and never got along with his sister - Moon Lost in Daytime (or just Moon.)

To keep things short for now. Moon was expected to become the next leader due to her high spirit and she was raised as such. She quickly learned she could throw her weight around with little consequence with her brother. It didn't take long before she started insulting his best friend too.

She made fun of Ant for thinking that they'd ever be capable of being a healer. And when they were training, Moon would mock Ant anytime they failed to catch prey. At it's worst, Moon would intentionally rough up either Ant or Fog in "play fights" or "battle training."
And then Moon would act all innocent and sweet in front of her mother and The Group. Even the few cats who knew and disliked Moon's behavior just acted like she'd just grow out of it eventually. Ant's mother especially did nothing to protect her.

Ant absolutely despised Moon, and she didn't even get the worst of it like Fog did. And despite Ant always trying to be by his side, she couldn't always be there. One afternoon when Fog didn't return to camp after hunting, Ant snuck out to search for him despite the pouring rain. She found his drowned body ashore by the creek, cradled by the stones. Fog wasn't supposed to be hunting so close to the water, and while Ant can't know for sure, she thinks Fog jumped in on his own.
And Moon didn't care one bit. Ant could see straight through her fake mourning.

And that was the day Ant first imagined killing Moon.

A strange gray and white cat appears in Ant's dream's that night, telling Ant how they've been watching her suffering, and how they want to help. How they can help her spirit become something greater than an ant, or the moon. That she deserved to have her own place - as a healer and as someone others would finally listen to.

She could have the spirit of the stars.

And thus, Ant becomes the first member to walk the Star Path and forsake her own spirit. All for the sake of killing Moon, avenging Fog and becoming who she wanted to be.

And she doesn't care if she's seen as the villain.

I'll probably go in more detail about what happens next later.

Some clarification:

-This takes place after the clans are kicked out of the territory and The Group took their place. Also after Sunshine and Blaze fought (Blaze was pregnant when they fought)and some of The Group members split into another. Bonus info; Blaze and Sunshine's spirit are both sunlight.

-The cat in Ant's dreams was Cloudypelt. Cloudypelt's true intent with Ant was to help sow discord amongst The Group (and maybe kill the leaders while she's at it)

-Cats could naturally have a star as their spirit, but it was very, very rare as stars were considered the most mysterious but powerful spirits. After the Star Path becomes a thing however, if any kit naturally has a star spirit it would probably be considered a very bad omen. And might not end well for that kit's upbringing.

-Yeah I came up with a lot of details about The Group's belief system more recently lol I plan on figuring out more of the details as I go.
