I've had this drawing lying around for a while now, thought I might as well upload it.

These are two Warrior ocs that I came up with on the spot while listening to a song, because sometimes that's a fun way to brainstorm characters. (and if you wanna find out what the song was you can read the title lol)

Meadowcall and Larchdust were best friends while they were apprentices. Almost inseperable, Meadowpaw would even follow Larchpaw when he shirked his duties or snuck off to explore the weird twoleg places. Meadowpaw and Larchpaw's mentors and parents got pretty mad at them when they found out what they were doing, though.

And eventually Meadowpaw stopped following Larchpaw outside the territory. Larchpaw didn't care about other's calling him a "good-for-nothing." but Meadowpaw... did. Despite the little argument they had over it and the less time they spent with each other, Meadowpaw still thought of Larchpaw as his best friend.

Then one day, Larchpaw limps back into camp with bleeding wounds and terror lingering in his eyes. While exploring the twoleg places, Larchpaw was cornered by some twolegs and struck with stones so fast they pierced his skin.

And because Larchpaw would be stuck recovering in the medicine den some time and because he already failed so much of his warrior training, the leader decided Larchpaw would train as a medicine cat instead. “Oh Larchpaw, being a medicine cat isn’t a punishment!” They said. Larchpaw knew better.

While cats blamed Larchpaw for getting injured from his own stupid decisions, Meadowpaw blamed himself for not being there to help Larchpaw. If he were there would Larchpaw not be as miserable as he is now? Larchpaw might have said it didn’t matter, but Meadowpaw couldn’t help blaming himself.

Then Larchpaw starts training in the dark forest. It was the only place he could unleash his building frustration, the only place that would continue his warrior training. Meadowpaw, now Meadowcall, finds himself in the dark forest one night, and is shocked when he finds Larchpaw training there. Meadowcall asks Larchpaw about it the next morning, but it seemed Larchpaw had no intention of quitting his training, even if he risked his life.

After thinking it over and over, Meadowcall went to the dark forest again that night, and said he wanted to train too. Really, he just wanted to be there to protect Larchpaw - to make sure that this time Meadowcall could do something to save Larchpaw if he needed to. And maybe make up for the time they lost together?

It continues for a while, Larchpaw becomes Larchdust the medicine cat. Eventually Meadowcall grows too concerned about what Larchdust is training for. He tries reasoning Larchdust, maybe he could still become a warrior? Maybe he didn’t need to suffer, maybe he didn’t need to want others to suffer for what they did to him?

Larchdust, buried in his own anger, refused to stop his training. He believed that no one would stand up for him. And what had Meadowcall ever done for him? Just watch as the leader decided his fate? Follow him into the dark forest? For what? So Meadowcall could get him in trouble over it later? It was Meadowcall’s fault anyone ever found out about the trips to the twoleg place in the first place!

After the heated argument, Meadowcall stopped training in the dark forest. Promised he wouldn’t tell anyone about it.
This was a fate up to Larchdust now.

And despite how little they talked after that, Meadowcall still thought of Larchdust as his best friend. As sad as it was.

idk there’s more story after that, but I haven’t figured it all out yet. I just like setting up drama apparently.
both Meadowcall and Larchdust are Cliffclan cats in my story btw. Their story happens before the clans are forced to move.
