I actually don't know why people assume she is evil... sure she doomed any future children or sisters, but we don't really know her canon story. I mean, most queens on the continent kill their own mothers to gain the status, and they aren't considered evil half of the time, right?

I agree. It's considered honorable to battle you mother for the throne, besides, who knows how much animus magic she made orca use? Or whirlpool? She may have been insane from loss of her soul.Β

I recently read a fanfiction www.deviantart.com/riokodragon⦠and the first few chapters are in orca's point of view. It isn't necessarily canon, but It's amazingly well written, and gives a new point of view on the matter of her animus powers.
(In canon, we don't even know if she was actually insane, we just know she challenged her mother, and got herself killed after creating the statue that destroys female heirs))
