Ray sat on Kennar’s shoulder and observed his new teammates. They weren’t entirely new. Larry was walking with Violette and Arthur. Having the Prinplup around was reassuring. Larry had been with Kennar and Ray since the two had arrived in the United Realms. Clair was also there. The Primal Hoothoot was casting a light blue light on the group, and her mechanical ticking set a rhythm. Ray shivered. They’d be finding more Primal Pokemon, and fighting them. Ray shivered and looked over the rest of the group.

Larry seemed to get along well with Violette and Arthur. That was good. It meant they were reliable fighters. They both looked like it. Violette was a Fighting type, and the Pancham often practiced punching during breaks. She’d be ready. Arthur was a bit wilder. The Bagon ran off at times, and Violette would often have to pull him back. The large ridges on the dragon’s head made him look fierce.

The final member of the group was Pack. The Stunky sulked around at Kennar’s feet and had made no effort to get to know the others, even though she was the only one of Rosette’s Pokemon to join the group. Ray hopped to the ground beside her.

“What do you think about things?” asked Ray.

“Wonderful,” she said. “My trainer is taking a safer and easier path, and I’m stuck here with you, Tick-Tock, Captain Serious, Punchy, and the Wannabe Air Show.”

Ray frowned. “Well, I’m glad Larry and Violette are here,” he said. “Arthur too.”

“But not the Primal on our side? That’s reassuring, Jitters.”

Ray shook his head and jumped onto Kennar’s jacket and climbed back to his trainer’s shoulder.
